Hydration is crucial since you lose more fluids when it is hot out. Drinking water not only helps your body regulate temperature but it also keeps your organs functioning properly.
• Hack: freeze water bottles ahead of time. They will double as ice in your cooler and are drinkable when they thaw.
• Bonus Hack: Sore feet from hiking? Roll your arches against a frozen water bottle.
Nothing ruins a camping trip more than a sunburn. It is important to wear a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and reapply every 2 hours. Even overcast/windy days pose a risk as you may not feel the heat of the sun but the UVA and UVB rays are still hitting your skin.
A pre-assembled first aid kit works great. However, if you are choosing to assemble your own make sure to include: adhesive bandages, butterfly bandages, gauze pads, sterile wipes, antibiotic ointment, pain and anti-inflammatory medicine, hydrocortisone cream, antihistamine, eyedrops, and tweezers.
