Multi-hands Therapy, an Advanced Technique at Apex

GET MORE OUT OF YOUR TREATMENT WITH MULTI-HANDS THERAPY

A Multi-hands approach to bodywork is founded in the paradigm of CranioSacral therapy. CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a manual therapy that enhances the body’s natural healing process. It is a gentle hands-on method of evaluating, treating, and facilitating the improvement in the function of a physiological body system called the CranioSacral system.

The CranioSacral system is comprised of the bones, membranes, and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. All of these structures are set in a gentle rhythmic motion by the movement of cerebrospinal fluid.

The free flow of fluid to every tissue in the body is essential to good health and optimal flow of the craniosacral system has a systemic healing effect on the whole body.

A Multi-hands approach of CST involves two or more therapists working with one client at a time. It is taught by the Upledger Institute to help facilitate a client who is “stuck” in a healing phase or has plateaued in their healing. The nice part about Apex is we have a great team of talented therapists from visceral to Lymphatic experts that can join in a multi-hands approach to work within different systems in the body to help find root causes of dysfunction and get a little deeper within understanding of the dysfunctions.

Have you ever had a massage and had someone working on your LB and think to yourself, “I wish I could have someone work on my neck at the same time.” This is exactly what happens in a multi-hands setting, you have another set of hands to help facilitate a connection within the whole body.

There is usually 1 primary/lead therapist supported and assisted by the other therapist. The work is multi-hands as a team, all following what the needs of the client on the table. It is not 2 therapists with different agendas working at the same time. The multi-hands approach offers the client a potentially deeper experience in a way that can only be done with the support of a group. The therapists work together as a team and this enables them to be more perceptive to what is going on in the client’s body and validates what they are feeling within their system that the therapist works in and how it may correlate to the other system at hand. The changes for the client often feel more significant than having a couple of single one on one treatments. The deeper issues or causal factors of what is going on for the client can be addressed in this supported setting. On a practical level more of the client’s body can be physically held if there is releasing of tissue on a more dynamic level.

Multi-hands CST treatment is most beneficial with clients that have more complex health issues and may have plateaued with one on one treatments in the past. The dynamic of the multi-hands group of therapists can facilitate the client to get to a more elevated place in their mind-body-spirit connection. This can promote deeper healing with more lasting results. The client moves from a place of unresolved issues and illness towards greater health, wholeness and fulfillment in life. (this is the goal, anyway)

There is limited availability for Multi-hands treatments at Apex, and we do require you to have a one on one massage, CST or Lymphatic treatment first to see if you would benefit from the multi-hands experience, but if this seems to resonate with you, call today to find out more 701-364-APEX (2739)
