New Girl In Town

You know how you have plans for one year, five years, ten years, etc.?

Maybe it is just my type-A personality, but I had life planned out for a few years as I settled into a small Minnesota town in lakes country after graduating from the University of Mary with my Doctor of Physical Therapy in April of 2020.  But as life proves repeatedly, we can have the best plans and they don’t always work out.  A few months after graduation, I met my prince charming, got engaged, packed up my small house, moved to the “big city” of Fargo, ND, joined the Apex team, and I couldn’t be happier to be able to serve you!

Why I became a physical therapist:

As a physical therapist, I have a unique opportunity to enter people’s lives that have been changed by pain or dysfunction and am able to use my skills to assist people in returning to their optimal function.  My first exposure to physical therapy was when I had my own shoulder injury that limited my ability to play volleyball.  I personally worked with a physical therapist who assisted me in returning to the sport I loved.  It was such a life-altering experience for me that I wanted to be able to give other people that same sense of freedom.  I believe in providing an individualized treatment approach for each patient and helping them return to living their best life while having a little fun along the way!

Things to know about me:

  1. I’m a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC): My first passion was working with the athletic population and following sports teams around.  I still love being an athletic trainer and use a lot of my training in my physical therapy work.
  2. Agriculture is a passion: I grew up on a farm where my family raised beef cattle and crops. As the saying goes, “you can take the girl out of the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the girl”.  This holds true in my life.  I love going back to my roots and helping on the farm.
  3. Lover of the great outdoors: When I am not in the office, you can find me outside.  I love to hike in the National Parks or spend time at the lake with family and friends.  A little bit of fresh air is always good for the soul.

I am so excited to be joining the Apex team and can’t wait to serve you and the community!
