October is a fun month around our clinic because it’s National Physical Therapy Month and National Massage Awareness Week—our two favorite professions to celebrate!
To add to that, tomorrow, October 9th is Global PT Day of Service. Last year we celebrated this day by giving back to our community with a morning of plogging. Refer to Megan Langerud’s ‘What the Plog’ blog to learn more about what exactly that is!
According to www.ptdayofservice.com, PT Day of Service (PTDOS) was founded in 2012 by Efosa Guobadia and Josh D’Angelo. This day is about creating a positive change on the local level for global effect. Check out their website at the beginning of this paragraph to learn even more about PT Day of Service!
Now back to PTDOS at Apex. This year we are doing things a little different because our busy schedules didn’t allow for us to go plogging, but we may bring that back in the future!
Instead, we are asking all our staff members to pick their own way of giving back in our community—whether that be raking leaves for someone or writing a special note to an elderly in the nursing home. The options are really endless when it comes to doing kind acts of service in our community! To see all the creative and fun ideas our staff came up with, be sure to watch our social media pages.
And if you feel so inclined, please join us in doing an act of service for someone!
Plogging!
