Ankle Fracture
An ankle fracture is a completely or partially broken bone on either side of the ankle joint. It is usually caused by twisting injuries or falls. Ankle fractures may require surgical intervention and physical therapy will continue to be crucial to your recovery.
Symptoms of this condition may include:
- Immediate and severe pain
- A “pop” during the time of the injury
- Tenderness and swelling around the ankle
- Bruising and possible deformity at the ankle
- Difficulty bearing weight through the ankle.
