Bursitis
Hip bursitis occurs when one or both fluid-filled sacs of the hip, called bursa, become inflamed or damaged. Commonly caused by repetitive movements like running or stair climbing, incorrect posture or direct trauma or post hip surgery.
Typical symptoms include:
- Pain on the outer side of the hip, thigh, buttock, or outside of the leg.
- Pain when lying on the affected hip
- Pain when walking, climbing stairs, lifting or sitting cross-legged
