De Quervien’s Tendonitis
De Quervain’s tendonitis is caused when the tendons of the thumb and wrist become inflamed and thickened from repetitive use or overloaded by pressure. It can occur from excessive use of the thumb, such as texting, or from chronic overuse of the hands. Sometimes, this condition may require surgery to provide long term relief.
Symptoms of De Quervain’s tendonitis include:
- You may have pain moving the wrist
- Difficulty flexing the thumb
- Weakness or a snapping/catching sensation when moving the thumb
