Meniscal Tear
Meniscal tears are injuries to the cartilage discs separating the bones in the knees. Meniscal tears can occur from acute trauma, such as twisting or turning quickly on a bent knee, or from degeneration over time. Some meniscal tears may require surgical intervention, but physical therapy will continue to be essential.
Common symptoms of this condition are:
- Sharp and intense pain in the knee,
- A “pop” or tearing sensation
