Patellar Tendonitis Tendonopathy

Patellar tendinitis/tendinopathy, also called Jumper’s or Runner’s knee, is an injury to the tendon that connects your kneecap to your shinbone. It is common in athletic sports that require repetitive jumping or landing but can also occur in individuals who don’t participate in jumping sports. Symptoms of this condition include:

  • Pain during or after activity,
  • Swelling
  • Difficulty or weakness with daily activities

A physical therapist will work with you and create a plan of care that best meets your needs and goals.
