Shoulder Arthritis
Osteoarthritis of the shoulder occurs when the cartilage that lines the sides of your shoulder blade becomes weak or torn away. This type of injury may be due to “wear and tear,” but can also be caused by injury or dislocation to the joint. It is most common in individuals over the age of 50 but can occur in younger people who may have had trauma or surgery performed to the joint.
Symptoms
Common symptoms of arthritis include pain with activities that relieves with rest, pain with sleeping, decreased shoulder movement and strength, stiffness, and difficulty using the arm.
