Bursitis
Shoulder bursitis occurs when the fluid-filled sac in your shoulder joint (called a bursa) becomes irritated and inflamed. This condition can be caused by repetitive overhead motions, repetitive throwing, muscle weakness, incorrect posture, direct trauma such as being hit or falling on that shoulder and can also occur after surgery.
Symptoms
If you have shoulder bursitis, you may experience pain at the outer tip of your shoulder, pain when lying on that shoulder, pain when lifting arm to the side, and pain when rotating or pushing and pulling a door open.
