Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome
Tarsal tunnel syndrome occurs when the posterior tibial nerve of the ankle becomes compressed. This condition is often associated with increased pressure or swelling in the lower leg.
Common symptoms you may experience are:
- Pain, numbness and tingling into the foot or ankle
- Weakness of the foot and large toe
- Foot swelling
- Increased symptoms with prolonged standing or walking
- Temperature changes between the foot and ankle
