Total Shoulder Replacement
A total shoulder replacement is a surgical procedure in which part or all of the shoulder joint is replaced. This surgery is usually indicated when conservative management does not improve symptoms or conditions such as osteoarthritis or rotator cuff disease are present.
Physical therapy will play a vital role in your recovery following this procedure. A physical therapist may have you perform range of motion and strengthening exercises, as well as activity-specific training to help you return to your previous function.
Treatments May Include:
- Range of motion exercises
- Strengthening Exercises
- Activity Specific Training
At Apex, your physical therapist will assess your body after surgery and work with you to create a treatment plan that best suits your individual goals and needs.
