Video: 5 ways to choose a safe lubricant

Painful sex due to vaginal dryness can be caused by a variety of things. Lack of arousal, breastfeeding, hydration levels or even diseases.

Here’s 5 things to consider when choosing a vaginal lubricant.

A PH level between 3.8 – 4.5
Many lubes have a PH greater than 4.5.
This can cause bacterial vaginosis.

Osmolality <1200
This can keep your vaginal tissue well lubricated but not over lubricated.

Avoid toxic chemicals
Such as Chlorhexidine Gluconate Parabens, fragrances or flavors.
These are vaginal mucosa irritators, fertility, and endocrine disruptors,
and are known to kill off healthy vaginal bacteria.
