Wrist Fracture
Wrist fractures most commonly occur due to falls when individuals have their arm stretched out to catch themselves. A wrist fracture is diagnosed when any of the bones of the wrist breaks or cracks. Xray is required to diagnose a fracture, some fractures may require surgery. Physical therapy is essential in regaining function after the fracture has healed or surgery.
Common symptoms include:
- Pain around the wrist that may radiate to the fingers
- Swelling of the wrist and hand
- Tenderness of the wrist
- Pain with moving the wrist
