Top Throwing/overhead Athlete’s Shoulder Exercises

Top 5 throwing exercises

Top throwing exercises for your shoulder

Many sports require throwing or overhead motions, and because of that many athletes (old and young) can be considered to have throwing/overhead components. Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Football, Track throwers, and even swimmers can have some overhead/throwing motions.

Since there is a lot of force going through the shoulder during the throwing motion, this joint is one of the most common areas for injuries in these athletes.

Here are a few of my favorite exercises to help keep your shoulders strong and pain-free.

Check out the videos to help demonstrate how to perform these exercises!

Shoulder eccentric external rotation

Row with 90/90 ER

Resisted PNF D2 flexion/extension

Rebounder throw with return
