Annual Mobility Evaluation
What Is an Annual Mobility Evaluation?
The Annual Mobility Evaluation is a comprehensive movement check-up designed to assess areas that commonly change as we age.
Think of it like your yearly physical or dental cleaning — you don’t wait until something is wrong. You check in to stay ahead of problems.
Our Doctors of Physical Therapy evaluate:
- Walking speed and safety
- Strength
- Posture
- Balance
- Fall risk
Your results are compared to age-related standards so you can see how you’re doing — and track changes year to year.
The goal?
Catch small changes early and protect your independence.
What Does the Evaluation Include?
Your mobility check may include:
✔ Strength testing (such as sit-to-stand testing)
✔ Walking assessment
✔ Posture measurements
✔ Balance testing
✔ Fall risk screening
We securely store your results so we can track progress over time and compare year-to-year changes.
What Happens After the Evaluation?
Based on your results, your physical therapist will:
- Review your mobility findings
- Discuss any areas of concern
- Recommend a personalized plan
Many patients benefit from 2–3 visits to review exercises and strategies to maintain strength and function. If additional concerns are found, a longer plan of care may be recommended.
Every plan is individualized to your needs and goals.
Does Insurance Cover It?
Yes. Physical therapy evaluations are typically covered by insurance.
- Medicare patients require a referral from their provider.
- Copays and deductibles apply as they normally would.
