“I have failed pelvic floor physical therapy in the past.”
“Pelvic floor physical therapy doesn’t work for me.”
“I have been given kegels to do in the past and it made my symptoms worse.”
“My doctor said I needed to go to Apex even though I have tried other physical therapy clinics around town for the same issue without results.”
These are all common phrases I get in my office when meeting a patient for the first time. I totally understand the frustration of seeing another provider for the same thing because the first provider wasn’t able to help get you the results you were hoping for. It can be hard to trust another provider and be vulnerable in sharing personal topics that are limiting your freedom in life. However, I am here to tell you that comparing Apex’s Pelvic Health team members to other pelvic health providers is like comparing apples and oranges. We all claim to treat pelvic health conditions, but at Apex, we have distinct characteristics that separate us from the rest!
- Physical Therapy Tools
- Apex has invested in physical therapy tools that best assist the physical therapist in successfully treating all pelvic health conditions. Biofeedback is a non-invasive tool used to assess how pelvic floor muscles work. It can also be used for training pelvic floor muscle for strengthening, endurance, or relaxation. It is not uncommon for us to use diagnostic ultrasound to look at abdominal wall muscles to ensure proper activation or complete a bladder scan. We also have the tools to perform cupping, rectal balloon training, pelvic wands training, soft tissue massage tools, and more! Having access to all these tools allows our physical therapists to provide the highest level of care for whatever your needs are.

- Physical Therapist’s Education, Training, and Level of Experience
- It goes without saying that knowledge is power. All our team members put in hours throughout the year to expand their knowledge and skills in treating a wide variety of pelvic health conditions. Over half of our pelvic health team is board-certified in pelvic floor rehabilitation and has been treating this specific population for five or more years. When you combine that amount of education, training, and experience in one team, it elevates the quality-of-care patients receive.
- Passionate Team Approach
- Apex’s Pelvic Health team is made up of ten passionate physical therapists wanting to help you achieve your goals. We all have a wide range of knowledge and skills that we share with each other daily. It is not uncommon for us to ask one of our team members to review a tough case if we get stuck with treatment progression or help brainstorm treatment plans. We also have different strengths in areas in which we can transfer patients to another provider to ensure the best care possible if needed. So, you might be seeing just one provider, but each of us are backed by a strong team of women willing to provide knowledge and expertise when needed.

- Patient Experience
- At Apex, we pride ourselves in the patient experience. Each visit, you will be greeted with warm smiles in a welcoming environment. You will have one primary physical therapist that meets 1-on-1 in a private treatment room for all your sessions. We can be present with our patients for an hour if needed, in which we can complete a full treatment session. This includes hands-on care, educating on current condition to best understand symptoms, and establish a home exercise program that works with a patient’s current lifestyle to correct dysfunctions. In doing so, our patients can achieve their goals efficiently.

As you can see, Apex’s Pelvic Health team is very different than most. The Apex Way guaranties that you will be heard, and your concerns will be addressed. As patients walk out of my room on their last visit, I often hear very different phrases than visit one.
“I am so thankful that I was able to work with you.”
“I didn’t think I would ever be able to run again without leaking.”
“Pelvic floor physical therapy has changed my life!”
“I am so glad my doctor referred me to Apex.”
