Free Yourself from Sports Injuries

Lets think about the concept of freedom

TL/TR – watch a short video instead.

In the spirit of July and the celebration of our independence as a nation, we want to continue our focus on the concept of freedom. The word freedom has many definitions such as the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint and the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved. To ensure our freedom many individuals have, and continue, to fight and die for the cause and we commemorate our freedom with patriotic parades, barbeques, and fireworks. We all recognize that freedom does not come free!

Stay injury-free with an assessment of your strength, flexibility and biomechanics

You can apply the same logic to the idea of freeing yourself from sports injuries. Countless hours are spent both in-season and off-season preparing for athletic events and sports seasons through strength and speed training, camps, and other sport-specific activities to improve our performance. Far too often, however, we see those seasons end abruptly, or at the very least are interrupted, due to an injury. When that happens, we are often left wondering if there was anything else that could have been done to avoid those disappointments.

What I believe may be a missing link for many athletes (whether adolescent, middle-aged, or seasoned veteran) is a thorough, individualized assessment of that athlete’s strength, flexibility, and biomechanics related specifically to their sport’s needs/demands.

An Apex Physical Therapist is the perfect healthcare professional to provide that assessment through a free Athlete Enhancement Screening. By individualizing the assessment to each athlete’s sport-specific needs and identifying limitations specific to each athlete, we can then make suggestions of exercises that would be beneficial to add to your regular routine. Details that otherwise may be overlooked in a larger group-oriented setting, but could play a major role in freeing yourself form sports injuries.

We live in an era where we constantly personalize things in our lives, everything from our coffee to phone covers, to profile pictures and social media status, so why not take the time to add some personalization to your workouts and training routine.

Free yourself from sports injuries and contact your Apex Physical Therapist to schedule your free Athlete Enhancement Screening today!
