Rachel graduated from the University of North Dakota as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2013. She has a special interest in osteoporosis and is trained in the Meeks Method Treatment for Osteoporosis. She developed the Apex Re-Align the Spine program, which is based on the Meeks Method principles. The program is a comprehensive treatment approach aimed at educating individuals about safe and unsafe movements with osteoporosis, maintaining and improving postural alignment, maintaining and improving bone density, and the prevention of fractures. She is passionate with regards to educating older adults about simple things they can do to improve their health with regards to osteoporosis that will impact their quality of life throughout the golden years. She also loves treating neuromuscular disorders. She spent 6 years specializing in treating outpatient neuromuscular disorders such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinsons, adults with cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, falls and balance in a top 20 hospital. She works with common orthopedic issues such as shoulder, knee, hip and back pain. She has done training with Modern Management of the Older Adult (MMOA) as well. MMOA is a fitness-forward approach to the treatment of the older adult that recognizes many older adults are under dosed with their exercise prescriptions and works with each individual to help them achieve their highest level of function. Rachel enjoys being part of her patient’s journey to better function and celebrating their successes with them.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her friends and family, listening to Podcasts (Hidden Brain and Radiolab are some of her favorites), and tries to “enjoy the little things.”
